Way Home. It's been 32 years since the Canadiens last brought the Cup Home. Written in 2007, when the Sens went to the final.
Welcome to The Hockey Project - where Music meets Our Game.
It's May 21, 2025: Edmonton's second chance to bring the Cup Home to Canada! A tough road ahead.
The Music and Vids at this web-place express Canada's (your/my) love of hockey. Like many Canadians, I love winter. I love to skate on my nearby lake. I love XC and downhill skiing. Maybe it's because there's no mosquitoes, deer flies, black flies, etc? I do root for my team, but it's the love of the game that brought me to write songs that Canadian Hockey Fans can all relate to and celebrate. If you like them, then please like and share with your rabid hockey friends, and your rivals. So here's Long Way Home. It's been 32 years since the Canadiens last brought the Cup Home. Written in 2007, when the Sens went to the final.
The Hockey Project was created in 2014 to raise awareness for Youth Mental Health.
1 in 5 Canadians will suffer from a Mental Health challenge. That's why we used Hockey and the Penalty Box as the perfect metaphor to represent that challenge that many Canadians are facing. With the passing of Stompin' Tom Connors, his “never stop stompin” style of music seemed perfect to send our message; “Never give up on life”. We filmed the video at the International Hockey Academy in Rockland, Ontario, along with young hockey players from 13 different nations who all worked with us together, where we all shared their stories and challenges. We choreographed 80 players into a Michael Jackson-inspired thriller on ice. Worth seeing.
Larry Pegg Music has been helping Canadians for over 25 years. Currently In Alberta, I am helping Spirit North and The Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley. As well, Edmonton fans might appreciate Highway 63 music written in May, 2016. It was a song chronicle of the Great Fort McMurray Wildfire and the brave efforts of the Fire Fighters. We raised funds for The Canadian Red Cross efforts in Fort McMurray. Music can make a memorable difference. Here's that Music and Video, still making a difference for those in Fort McMurray and beyond.
It's June 6, 2025, WILDFIRES devastating Canada again, Another tragic Wildfire season. All proceeds from your download of Highway 63, Long Way Home, We Love Hockey, Don't Stop Stompin' will go to the Red Cross or other direct support for those that have suffered in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northern Ontario, and BC/Alberta/Yukon and the NW Territories. Don't forget Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland.
Canada is a country of compassion at home and abroad. There is nothing like helping others. I'm not only moved to help in my own country, I've been reaching out and helping in the developing world. This includes developing projects in Nepal (Tsum Valley), in Bolivia (Sucre), and Cuba (Havana). If you want to know more, or are inclined to help, you can reach out via the Contact form, or you can join my email update list.
